What Is A Conference Center

A conference or retreat center focuses on adult guests, by creating a special, “experience apart” that is often in a natural setting. Groups who frequent conference centers often seek a time and a setting which allow for reflection and renewal.

A typical center will offer accommodations which include meeting space, lodging, food services, and varying programs.

Not-for-profit conference centers are usually owned by government agencies – we have centers owned by cities and by states, owned by religious organizations – we have representation of twelve different faith-based sects, and owned by educational agencies – we have university owned, and 4-H centers and YMCA centers.    We are most often defined by our mission and our tax-exempt status.
