A Green Center is recognized as a leader in energy conservation, air quality and reduced water consumption and waste. It is designed to promote Green centers throughout the country by encouraging centers to adopt cost-saving "green" practices. It is a voluntary program that establishes environmental guidelines to conserve natural resources and prevent pollution.
In your self assessment, you will examine six areas about your center: environmental, communication, air quality, energy efficiency, solid waste reduction, toxic and hazardous waste, water conservation, and purchasing.
